The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
